7, read it and weep. Out of those 7, only two are in Western Canada.
Yikes.
What I don’t really get is they put one in Victoria (A city of 344,630), but don’t put one in Calgary (Largest city in Alberta and 5th largest city in Canada, population of 1,214,839, which is almost double the population of both Windsor and Victoria combined, which both have Alfa dealers)
Goddamnit FCA.

Because everyone in Calgary drives pickups and Vancouver/Victoria area is known for rich people with exotics.

Calgary isn’t exactly an Alfa city. It’s a lifted F350 city.

I mean, you say that, but whenever I go to Calgary I regularly see exotics. Same with Edmonton. The traffic in AB is basically 80% trucks, 15% GTRs, 911s, and F-Types, or equivalents, 4% is Corollas, and the remaining 1% is every other type of car.
Note: I made all this shit up, my point still stands though.

I’m guessing the rest are in Toronto, Toronto Junior, and French Toronto...

I mean, pretty much. Toronto and French Toronto get all the cool shit the rest of Canada doesn’t get.

Are car manufacturers even serious about selling their cars? Germany’s got whooping eleven (11) Cadillac dealerships.

Yikes.
Basically, in Canada, even with the bigger marques, if you’re outside of the big cities, you’ll only have the big three. There are exceptions, a small town about an hour west of my city has a Honda dealer, but anything other than the domestics is rare.

You say that, but how many of your quoted population number are moose? Safe to say, Alfa Romeos don’t sell well to large antlered mammals. Also, you stated as recently as yesterday that Toronto isn’t Canada, so if I’m not mistaken, 2 of those aren’t even in Canadia. You might want to make this part of your platform, your chances for election aren’t looking good if you can’t even guarantee Alfa Romeos for the people.

Who says moose can’t drive?

I’m trying to decide which one to go to...

I didn’t say they can’t drive, quite the contrary, moose are excellent drivers. They just don’t buy Alfa Romeos.

Where are you getting these statistics? I know from the bottom of my heart that moose buy Alfa Romeos by the boatload.

Sigh.
![]() 05/05/2016 at 16:55 |

Not the ones I know. Moose are very sensible creatures, not prone to frivolous purchases of the heart, which is Alfa Romeo’s whole marketing plan. They buy Volvos and work-truck spec F150s and Silverados. They are also afraid of snakes, which feature prominently right on Alfa’s badge.

here in rouyn-noranda we have a

Hm, I wouldn’t really know about the eastern bit. Mostly speaking about Western Canada. And when I say small town I mean under around 10k people.

In Canada, FCA awarded Alfa Romeo license to dealers with the best customer satisfaction index in each region that was susceptible to sell more.
They then made sure to get some in the cities with the most money (Lol Vancouver).
What I don’t get is why Quebec City got one (I was working at J.D. Chrysler at the time, selling Dodge). I think they sold like 5 cars since they opened the shop.

The more I think about that philosophy the more it makes sense. Calgary and Edmonton pretty wealthy though, all that oil money. I see 5ers, E-Classes, A6s, et cetera all the time, you’d think there would be some market for the Giulia.

Sorry.
It was much worse until a few months ago, when one in the middle shut down.

Same thing for Fiat: you had to prove you weren’t a sleazy stealership to get the Italian brand.
This is why I steer clear of mopar dealers without the Fiat banner.

And none in Alberta... they should have at least one in Calgary.
And none in downtown Toronto... and they should have one not too far away from Yorkville.
![]() 05/05/2016 at 23:06 |

But that would *totally* change if they got just one Alfa dealer...
![]() 05/06/2016 at 07:13 |

They could try one in Calgary, it might hold it’s own, but I don’t see it flourishing.
Toronto has Oakville and Vaughan. That’s enough for the present, until they start to take off. I doubt the initial launch volumes could support 3 so close together. Further down the road, they should DEFINITELY open one not too far from the Allen/Avenue area since that’s right where the moneybags are.

The best statistics are made up statistics!!!

Here in Germany it’s kind of similar. Most of the people living in villages or smaller towns just buy what the local dealer offers. But the single brand dedicated dealerships are getting rare.
